Week 7

I visited all the different sites. If I had to plan lessons I would definitely use Wordle and Terraclues. Those are great and I think the kids would like them. The other sites are good too for lessons. I didn't think much about the Read-Write-Think site - I don't know it just didn't seem like it would be very helpful. Kid Pix is great - we already use that at our school. At our campus each teacher is responsible for planning lessons in the computer lab, I could share these sites with the teachers so they would have more options for lesson planning and things for the kids to do on the computer.

Week 6

I check out all the sites. I liked the Kid Zone and Google Lit Trips sites. I can see using these in the library. I especially liked the work of the day and this day in history on Kid Zone. We could use these items on our video announcements in the mornings. I liked Goodle Lit Trips because I like to know where places are when I read a book and I'm sure the kids would too. They would need to get more books on there to make it worth your time though. You can always go to Google Earth to look up places that you are reading about.

Week 5

I watched the videos on Wiki's. Very interesting. I had heard of Wiki's before but did not know what they were. I am an aide so I don't plan lessons, but I can see where a teacher could use this in her teaching. I could use this for my personal use. We go on trips with our friends and we could set up a Wiki for planning our trips. You can't really compare blogs and wiki's - they are really two totally different things. You use them for different reasons. I don't think one is easier than the other. To me a blog is more for your own personal use and a wiki would be more for sharing with others.

Week 4

This is a video from Teacher Tube titled "How to take Care of Library Books" that would be good for any librarian to use.
Okay, it would not let me embed the video. There was an error message. So I am putting the URL so that you can view the video.

The other video I made on Animoto. It is my two friends and I when we went to New York this summer.

Week 3

I did not know there was so much to google. I knew about Google Earth, but not about igoogle or google reader. Since I don't actually teach a class I won't be using any of these tools to teach, but I will most likely be using them in my personal computer use. I haven't actually been into reading blogs much, but I do have one friend who has a good blog that I will add for sure and I'm sure I will find more blogs to add to the reader.

Week 2

Yeah! Finally! Took us a while but Kristen and I learned how to get our Voki on our blog page! That was a learning experience for sure. I have to admit I would have never got it done but Kristen figured it out!

Week 1

STARTING OUT

Well, first I have learned that there is a lot more on the web than I ever knew. I think I am going to learn alot about the web doing this workshop. I didn't know anything about blogging and look here I have already set up a blog! WOW! I am looking forward to learning more as I go along. I am an aide so I don't actually teach, but I think I will be able to use a lot of this information for my personal use.
